A minimum of two volunteer coaches are needed to lead a GOTR team. Volunteer coaches do not need to be runners...just have enthusiasm and be committed to the healthy development of girls. Coaches will be fully trained and provided with all materials necessary to successfully lead their team.

Practice Partners are special volunteers that attend practices to support the coaches and encourage the girls. They do not deliver curriculum but can assist coaches at practice in handing out lap counters, cheering girls on, or running with the girls. Practices are usually after school and vary from site to site.

Come and join us as a volunteer during the Girls on the Run 5k Event! This event is not possible without the help of amazing volunteers who believe in our mission and show up to support our girls. Over 300 volunteers are needed to put on our best 5k Series. We need your special skills and talents. There's a role for you!

This document will provide you with an overview of our program and the responsibilities of program sites. Keep in mind you can run your program before school, after school or in the evening at a school, YMCA or Community Center!
